4 Recipes For Homemade Treats

Do you want your puppy to be part of the Christmas activities? Do you like to cook and want your dog to taste your delicacies? A good way to use food with dogs is as a reward when it comes to educating them. Homemade food is a good healthier alternative to cookies or pre-made bagged treats. Edible treats help the dog to internalize some behavioral guidelines such as not barking for attention, biting, pulling on the leash or climbing on top and bothering strangers. In this blog post we will recommend you four homemade doggie treat recipes that you can cook at home in a very easy and simple way.



  • 2 cups of whole wheat flour (or white flour in case of intolerance)
  • 100 gr of oat flakes
  • 50 gr of butter
  • Vanilla extract
  • Lemon zest

*With these quantities you will be able to cook 40 pasta.

Elaboration of the recipe

The first thing you have to do is to mix all the ingredients until you get a homogeneous dough. With your hands, shape the small pieces of dough into cookies. Preheat the oven to 200 ºC, and without greasing, place the dough on a baking sheet on parchment paper. Bake them for 10-20 minutes until you see that the cookies are golden brown.

Very important: let the cookies cool before giving them to your dog.

  • 100 gr of clean fish without bones (tuna, or sardines)
  • ¼ cup of water or broth
  • A pinch of dried parsley
  • 1 egg

*Optional: a little mashed potato.

Elaboration of the recipe

Fish is a great source of omega 3 for our little ones. It is a necessary food for our dog's diet that brings health and well-being.

To cook it, mash the ingredients and add the flour, broth and parsley. Mold the dough until it is smooth and homogeneous. Cover the mixture with plastic wrap and wait 30 min. Roll out the dough with a rolling pin to a thickness of 5 mm. Shape it into cookie shapes with the molds. Preheat the oven to 180 ºC and place the cookies on the parchment paper. They will be ready in 15 minutes!

  • 100 gr flour
  • 50 ml olive oil
  • One cup of oat flakes
  • One tablespoon of brewer's yeast
  • Vanilla extract
  • One beaten egg.
  • 200 grams of chopped chicken without bones or skin.

The first thing you have to do is to mix the egg and add the cereals and flour. Beat it until it is a homogeneous dough. Add the rest of the ingredients, including the shredded chicken. Mold the cookies and shape them with a rolling pin. Preheat the oven to 180 ºC and bake the cookies for 15 minutes until golden brown.
